This cover story is interesting to every Elvis fan though Elvis is not mentioned. The Uptown neighborhood is really Elvis' old neighborhood, next to Humes High. In fact the same developers rebuilt Lauderdale Courts and market it as Uptown Square.  The renovation of these old, downtrodden places is a tremendous success story.

My photo attached is an example of what has happened at Uptown. This is on Saffarans Ave. where the Presleys lived immediately after moving out of Lauderdale Courts. It is opposite Humes High, near Manassas Street. Almost alll the homes are new, the place they rented is gone.
